BLACK ISLAND RETREAT

SLATED for spring 2006. PLEASE CHECK THIS PAGE FOR FURTHER UPDATES

This retreat offers the opportunity to nourish your artistic sensibilities with nature while offering the freedom to concentrate on the craft of writing. You will experience the teachings of the Aboriginal Culture and have opportunity to participate in a drumming ceremony at the spiritual site of Drumming Point. Our focus will be story-telling and writing, cultural traditions of both the Aboriginal and Icelandic cultures who lived harmoniously within this area.

Drumming Point has been visited by people from around the world and is believed to be the centre of North America and a place of great energy. You will be guided by a professional birder and park interpreters through this natural wilderness park. Black Island is found within the boundaries of Hecla / Grindstone Provincial Park, in Manitoba.
